The platform is central yet scalable, giving various MOH business units the ability to generate and access relevant reports and drill deep into their own data marts.

The platform is built to start small and scale out as the Ministry of Health adds more data sources to the warehouse, drawing on newer technologies like big data analytics and cloud computing as it grows. It runs entirely in the browser, so there’s no complex client software to install or manage. High-speed analysis with data acceleration means it can answer critical business questions fast. Security runs at every level of data processing through a homegrown IT security framework, backed by tight identity and role management.

The Future

The system can grow to include more data sources and capabilities, an ICD-10 auto code generator among them, helping medical records personnel assign ICD codes faster and more accurately. Boosting the BDA infrastructure would sharpen its analytics capabilities further. And adding more data sources from across different systems would widen the scope of data analytics for the whole Ministry of Health.
